Year 5 Girls Science Olympiad

Year 5 Girls Science Olympiad

On Monday 6th November a team of 5 Woodpeckers from Year 5 took part in a Girls' Science Olympiad held at Old Buckenham Hall School.  The day involved a series of challenges to do with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.  The girls worked out which type of fruit juice contains the most vitamin C to help sailors stay healthy on long voyages.  They also did a workshop on the Scratch coding program to make a figure dance across the screen.  In the Engineering task they had to make a car which would travel the furthest when blown by a hair dryer.  Thanks to great team work and ideas their car won the competition and they were awarded one of the 4 prizes in a ceremony at the end of the day.  The event was lots of fun and the girls were a credit to our school.  Well done!
