KS1 Trip to Lackford Lakes

The KS1 trip to Lackford Lakes was designed to enhance our science learning on habitats. Children learned to identify various habitats and the animals who live in them.  They also described how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals.

Mrs Masson (Science Coordinator) says...

"This was a Key Stage 1 trip so for years Year 1 and 2.  I had split the children into 3 groups so it was a wonderful opportunity for the children to work together across the classes.

We had a gorgeous sunny day and had our lunch outside. The children were all wonderfully behaved and were thoroughly engaged in all of the three sessions;
  • pond dipping,
  • invertebrate hunting
  • being animal detectives in the woods!
A huge thank you to those parents who came and enjoyed the day with us!"
